Caught a few on them, but the jury is still out.

Chartreuse, and white work well. My dad has caught nice smallmouth, and largemouth on it. Get some extra white split-tail trailers, with orange ends.

Just caught them on the shad color so far. Picked up some Zoom split tail trailers that match it very well.

I love them around the grass, I even make them, but I still prefer a Spinnerbait, they get hung up less.

They work as well as any bait if you've got the confidence in them...Last year was the first time I've used one and I caught quite a few fish on the white ones and on the brown ones. The trailers that come with them are pretty weak and get torn up usually, so we just put on some Zoom super flukes in white with the tail dipped chartreuse. That seems to attract larger fish with the bigger bodied bait.

I have had the best luck jigging them. This is the only way I can get strikes.

I've only caught one largemouth on a white 1/2 ounce chatterbait. I've got a chartruse and white 3/8 ounce one that I haven't caught anything on. How do you all work them? Do you run them like a spinner bait or a crankbait, or do you guys do it like TWG does and jig it in on the retrieve. Basically, what is some other stuff you guys have used and definately had success with it?

Cast it out, reel in any slack line, lift your rod tip about 2-3 feet(you should feel the vibrations), let it sink, lift, then at the top of your lift, twitch it with a fast sanp of the wrist, let it sink, lift, this time, while reeling in.

This cadence was taught to me, when I bought mine, and works very well.
We just bought a booyah boogee bait, and it has some awesome stuff on it!
With the trailers, we buy just white ones, and dip the tails. That color trailer, should work on any color chatterbait, even if they don't match.

I still heve never seen a chatterbait in stores or catalogs. Are they listed as something else other than chatterbait?

Booyah Boogee Bait, Gambler Swim Blade, My Mom Is Beckey Water Rocker, Peoples Choice Pulse Blade, and The Original Chatterbait, are all chatterbaits.

I have landed a few bass on these mostly over grassy areas

another way I like to fish it is rip off the skirt, and use a rubber frog by the pads or put on a double tail grub
both work well

Walmart & Bass Pro sells them for a WHOPPING $6. I'll never pay that much for a bait.

I won't even buy Rapala's unless they are on sale in BPS's Jon Boats, especially not to get lost in Florida's HEAVY cover.

I soend that much money on baits all the time.....
A bag of GYCB's senkos, are that much.
These will last you way longer, if you can get them out of snags. The lady at the baitshop, sold me 2 chatterbaits, and some trailers, for about 10$(about 6$ off), and told me how to fish them.. Thats why I love local tackleshops.
