Default Trim Tab

I lost my trim tab the other day in the water. I bought a new one. Need some help with installation. Motor: Yamaha V-Max 150. Thanks.

My trim tab is just above the prop. bought a new one the other day. It has to be turned slightly to one side. Not sure which side. Has to do with steering, so i read in the owners manual for yamaha, but it doesn't say which way it is too be turned. I think it must be turned the opposite side way that the prop is turning, but not sure.

BLWENG,
There are two ways to tackle this problem; (One,) you can install the tab straight ahead and try the boat to see which way the steering pulls and then adjust yours in an opposite direction of the torque pull in small increments until it removes the steering torque as much as it is going to. OR (Two,) go to a boat dealers, or a marina, or a friends boat and look at a torque tab installed on another motor and install yours accordingly.

R u talkin' about the zinc? If so then you will need to most likely turn it right to counter the motor's torque.
