Default Whats the best line to use with Sammys?

I don't to start a big debate but I am wandering what is the best line to use on a sammy type of top water bait? I need to make long cast on a super clear lake trying to catch primarily spotted bass. I started out using 10# Suffix elite mono, it cast a mile on my 7" med action rod and BPS Rick Clunn reel. But I am not sure if the stretch is hurting me on the hooksets, I lost a few yesterday. And yes i do wait until I feel the weight of the fish before setting the hook. I was thinking about switching to a fluorocarbon or a co-polymer, but I'm not sure if the faster sinking line will hurt the baits walk the dog action!

It will. I throw topwaters on Trilene Maxx. You want a line that will float, not sink like mono.

anytime I need to throw a bait a long way, I use braid, especially if its a $15 lure. Zero stretch really helps out on hooksets when you have a bunch of line out. Just keep in mind not to horse the fish too hard whenever using treble hooks with braid.
