baitcast reels
I recently got a new baitcast reel. It's set for 6:4:1. I understand that the 6 represents how many times the spool rotates for each turn of the reel. I don't quite understand the whole picture though. What kind of reel would you want for:
spinnerbaits: crankbaits: plastics: ETC? From what I understand that the higher your ratio the faster you can reel the fish in. I guess this would benefit people who use soft plastics in cover who need to pull the fish out fast and to the boat before the hook might come out of it's mouth? |
