Default check your Walmart

I went in my local wallmart for some things and checked out the fishing section. They have reduced prices on a lot of things. I asked the lady in the section why the reduction in price. She said they are getting more boating stuff, including a bunch of trolling motors. I got some Stren Super Braid for $7 a spool. The Strike King "King Rats" were $1. I bought all they had. FLW finesse worms are $1.50 a bag, good colors too.I got a Norman MadN for $1. They had some Rapalas, but they weren't the size I use. On another note they got rid of all their guns. I guess it's time to check other wallmarts too. Last time I did this I got 2 Curados for $25 each.

yes my walmart had Strike King Jigs for 1.50 along with the Mann's 1- and 4- series for 2.00 a piece. I really have been stocking up on cranks this year to get ready for the prespawn time...

OOOOh, I was wondering when the clearance was going to start. This time every year we save up some extra $$ for the big clearance at the wallfart. Last year we got 3 falcon originals for $19 each. Ton's of plastic's on sale too. I guess I'll check one of the wally worlds around here tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up,

Jolly

The Walmarts that I have been to down here are really bad as far as fishing selection goes. Am I going to the wrong stores Reb? 35/3009 has a limited selection of stuff that I have no use for.

Maybe Academy has spoiled me. I love that store!

those FLW finesse worms are the best thing. I cleaned the shelf off when I saw them for 1.50. I dont know if they will make them anymore and don't want to take the chance. Another post on here said the FLW stuff was being discontinued so I did not want to take the chance.

Big sale at my local Walmart also. Some of the FLW tubes and worms were 1.50 a bag and some of the Gammy hooks were on sale so I cleaned the shelf on those. Southwick jerks for 2.50 also.

Just loaded up. I went and looked yesterday, but nothing was on clearance yet. I went back today on my lunch break just to see and sure enough. Clearance everywhere. I loaded up on jigs, plastics and a few hooks. Someone had already hit and gotten alot of the good ones. I did manage to get me a couple packs of 6 inch lizards though. Also got the last Norman Middle N. The cranks weren't really marked down that much here. maybe in a couple of days they will be low enough to make a man proud of finding them that low.

The ones here were moved out of the original aisle to make room for the new stuff that was being stocked. Just look all around the sporting goods department. Do not leave any corner untouched. You would be surprised where they put the clearance stuff at.

Thumbs up Walmart Gold mine

Asked the pimple faced dude at my local wally world when the prices would be marked down and was told each thursday they get the markdown okay from the main office. Bought some Rebel Pop Rs for a buck each last night. They had lots of jigs, trailers and line, some stren braid @3.00. LAST YEAR bought bags of those triple x lizards for 2 cents a bag. I have bought some 70.00 rods there before for 25.00 each. pays to check back each week since they keep marking the goodies down till it sells. Also bought pro line golf balls last year for 3.50 a dozen. Pays to hit a few different ones each week because some dont mark them down at the same time.Seems most of the ones i have hit here locally have the same stuff but each week you will find more and more as new product comes in. My wife thinks im nuts but a deals a deal...............

Stopped back at the one wally world that charged me regular price for some line to get a refund. After that was done went back to the fish dept. Everything was still at the same price as it was a week ago. That is except for the Fenwick Ventures. Now the price was dropped from $30 to $19. I just had to buy one. 7ft. MH. It's the newer model. It has the exposed blank under the reel seat. They had both models there. The Quantum rods are $25, not sure what model. All the wally's I have been to have gotten rid of the better reels that they kept in glass cases. Now if I could just get a good deal on a reel for that new rod.
