'83 Hydra-Sport X-270 steering cable
Anyone know where I can get a replacement steering cable.
"Morse D305013-156 in 4467" is on the casing. It's the cable that goes through the tilt tube. All bound up, cannot turn boat to the right. Other cable works just fine. Are cables available for an '83 or am I going to have to upgrade to one of those TeleFlex systems? Thanks, |

I would Google the cable you are looking for to see if it is available. But your idea of upgradeing to teleFlex is good to and parts are readily available

Any boat dealer will have the cables. You need to measure the length.

They are not very exspensive and you will think your in a new boat after replacing..Just take your time under the helm to make sure you don't rip any wires loose.

Any thoughts on Teleflex vs. PreTech dual cable systems?
