welcome ken

I ran a bass club for many years and can give you some insight to what to expect...if you own a boat and put your name in the hat for a draw, for you clubs tournament, you usually get to decide where you want to fish on a lake and how long. the rider is called the "co angler" and has to pay for some of the gas and expenses, decided by the club at one of the meetings.
Normal entry fees per person are usually 35-50 bucks, some or more, some are less.
If you want exposure to new lakes and veteran anglers, a bass club is the way to go!

It's a little late in the year for us but check out the : EBA
I know that some of the events are a bit of a drive from Flint, but about as close as you can get.
Also the ABA in Flint usually needs coanglers as well. NBAA also has a Genessee/Oakland county tournament trail.

The closest one I know of for you is the Kent Lake Tuesday night league: http://www.greatlakesbass.com/forum/...p?topic=3203.0 for the remainder of this year. It is a 10MPH lake so any sized boat can go. But some of the guys fishing it are ringers on that lake. I thought we were doing O.K. last week with 7.5 lbs. of smallies and we lost by a full pound. (and that is for 3 fish in a 3 hour tx)
On the other hand everybody has an equal chance out there, let me know if you want to fish it by PM or email. Also they might be looking for coanglers.
