Post Braid

It's gonna be on my Flippin' Stick this year and I need tips.

There isn't too much sh!t up here to tangle in. Mosty docks, pads, sunken willow branches, boats, etc. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of 30-40lb...

I really want to try Sufix, but with all the different lines out there, it can be quite confusing. What brand(s) would you Guys reccommend? What color?

Thanks,

-Lunk-

POWER PRO RED...It's my #1..love the stuff! 30# braid is some rugged stuff..you will want a mono/flouro leader on there..unless your throwin topwater..otherwise it's not fun to cut line that costs 20-30 bucks to replace..and trust me it doesn't break easy...I've bent numerous hooks trying to rip lures from logs/stumps and who knows what.

I have said it a thousand times on this site and I will sya it again just for you!

YOU COULD PULL JIMMY HOFFA OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE LAKE WITH THIS STUFF!!!!!!!!

I mean I have broke split rings, and pulled the lead with right out of the lure on snags before. I have straightened jig hooks out and bent them back into shape in the boat. I figure I have saved hundreds of dollars over the years in getting 90% of my snags back! I think you couldn't ask for any thing more in a fishing line.

Good post Carolina, I have seen it but very use full to new buyers! Always someone out there trying to put it to the man! I hate people doing that sort of thing

Yeah I'd say green PP in about 30 lb. for your situation

I'll have to agree. I like Power Pro in green. I live here in NW Indiana so were almost neighbors, and the green seems to pretty much dissappear in our waters. I use the moss green in my monos too. I've tried Suffix, Spider Wire and Stren braids, and went back to Power Pro.

Ditto the green PP in 30# for flippin and pitchin for your part of the country (or anywhere for that matter, I use it in the densest stuff I can find).

Thanks, Guys!

I assume the smaer diameter (40lb.-) cuts vegetation better to, eh?

I think I am going with PP, although I always like to be different, I'll trust you here ().

LL, I forgot to say all my braid is 50 lb. with one exception. I use 30 lb on my shakey head rod with an 8 lb. fluorocarbon leader.

Cool, I think I'm going to go with 30lb. Power Pro, green. Do you think I should tie straight-to the jig, or should I use a fluorocarbon leader? If so, what test would you reccommend?

Unless your fishing clear water then you could tie it straight to the jig.

I agree with Senko, In clear water I always use a leader. But like if you're ifshing Hudson, I don't think it'll matter much.

Tru Dat! If half the boys saw what we deal with at Hudson, they'd be panic-stricken!

Look at my post under the Message Boards labeled "Goin' For It!", to find out what all I ordered in terms of line. I went with 40 lb. on the F.S., and 20 lb. on the D.S. and Texas Rig rod.
