VA Fed. BASS Junior Qualifier
I was the boat capt. for yesterday's event. Took a 14 and 15 year old out fishing on Anna in hopes that they qualify for the State Championship. Oldest stuck a 1.5 and a 3.7 and finished 4th overall with big fish honors. Due to technical error she qualified for the Championship.
Overall winner of the event for the senior group was one of my students from the high school club I sponsor. He got a 4 fish limit 8.44lbs. He'll be on Smith Mt. in mid-August. Piggy2 - he's going to need a whole lot of help on that lake at that time of year. What you got for him? I'd post pictures but since it was a kids event I'll refrain from doing so. Sorry. That 3.7 was a nice fish. |

Hey, 3d- Congrats on the day! Well done! Thanks for taking on that kind of role, man. I'll help your guy anyway I can regarding SML. August is a tough time to fish that E. Coli infested irrigation ditch, but we'll set him on some hawgs. There's a few other guys on the board from this area who'd probably have some excellent input, too. Again, way to go to you and the Utes.

I don't have their permission and they aren't my kids. Don't want to get any complaints from parents. Plus we got a whole bunch of preverts on this site....
Added this in. Cropped the photo down so you could see the fish. Not the best photo. You can probably see more if they post on VA Federation Nation web site. Last edited by 3dkicker; 06-11-08 at 02:45 PM. |

If you zoom in it's apparent that that bass is already eyeing those ducks. What a hawg! Golum would've given up the ring for that fish...

BA - got it in a pen just inside the 4th grass bed on your left. Has big fish potential written all over it.
Funny thing is that I ran into one guy I compete against while we were putting the fish in the livewell. He had 4 small keepers last Friday out of the same area and this fish would have put him in third place. He wanted to know if we could bring it back after the weigh in . |
