In Floriduh you will need a USCGS Captains license 6 pak UPV and a State guide license. Then charterboat insurance with about a 500 thousand in liability or more.

Step one is to record 360 days of water time in the last ten years. There are a bunch of other things needed like random drug testing and CPR and first aid.

Oh and also use of a AED is now required with your First aid cert.

It took me 9 months to complete training and testing BTW.

There are Captains coarses that are three weeks long and insure passage..

Capt. Mike has it listed correctly for Fla. Gotta be able to prove the 360 days also.
