Default Can you recognize the location?

For those who have been around for a while may recognize where I got to stop by on Sunday. Had a little work to do just outside of DC and instead of getting caught up in weekend traffic I decided to try an alternate route home. And since I was going to be in the area I thought I'd stop in..........

Winner gets a free bag of tubes, a grass jig or two, or a couple Knucklehead shad skirts.

Here's the first clue.........(ps - locals aren't eligible - sorry Capt Mike )

bbq joint that sells crabcakes? think not says i. it has to be a seafod joint. i ain't from there so i can't say the "name" of the joint. but i say it is a seafood joint of somekind. looks like a seafood menu on the wall above the counter. am i at least CLOSE?

NAAAAAWWW, it ain't a seafood joint, i looked again. it HAS to be a smoke house of some kind. but i ain't from there and don't know the names of the places. and sorry to tell ya gang there is a place where i am from that has the BEST smoked pork shoulder around. it is called TOP HAT BARBEQUE. off I-65. exit off onto old hwy 31. they also make in some folks minds the best fried catfish too. that is if you eat the nasty things, lmao.
now bear in mind that the best bbq is in the mind or taste buds of the beholder. if there is one thing i like, it is bbq, or ANY thing grilled, smoked or cooked over an open flame. man has been cooking over fire since he found fire. nothing will ever taste as good to me as grilled meat. and i love to grill, smoke or bbq meat. gonna smoke me a pork shoulder this summer. and grill as much as i possibly can. it is better FOR you too. so go out there and fire up grill folks.

sorry for getting off topic pal. back to the original story gang.

Proper name there Mr. Horshack
(I'm assuming it's the same as the name on the outside wall.)

Not Kenny's, not Big Daddy's either, SmokeShack Ribs sounds good but isn't correct.
Bama, I've been to Top Hat and it ain't half of what this place is...............

Capt Mike - What's the name of the place at the corner of Chickamuxen and Hawthorne? It was packed on Sunday. Plenty of trucks and bikes filled the parking areas.

3d you been to top hat in blount county alabama? for real? when? i grew up there man. lived right next to a country star. country boy eddie. famous for discovering tammy wynette. ran a few uh... ummm...... BOTTLES for his dad. yea, that's it a few bottles of water. yes, it was clear as water. so it had to be bottled water. that's my story and i am sticking to it.
by the way top hat bbq is one of the top 5 bbq joints in alabama.

It used to be Pennies Bar-B-Q but I would not hang around there too much. So many law enforcement stings going on there. With the biker gangs out of DC you have the Chuck County cops driving thru and the MD State police undercover narco squad and also the FBI running a gun sting operation out of there. And besides you would stick out like a pearl onion in a pot of peas.

I noticed the type of crowd that it was but was curious about the food. They had the smoker going but maybe they were burning something other than Hickory.

Sorry to get you all excited Bama but I've never been there. Just yankin' your chain.

Posting the final picture later today so you better get Google fired up or else Zooker will be the winner by having the closest answer.
