Default Had an operation

Well I prayed and worried and worried and prayed. My leg/foot condition wasn't getting any better so I took the plunge and opted for the recommended discectomy. They brought me in Thursday morning and removed the disc fragment between the L4-L5. The doc said it had been there for some time due to the scar tissue and vascular growth in the area. The fragment had shifted and had the peroneal nerve pushed over and bruised from what he saw when he got in there. But this is day #3 and I am feeling a lot better. All the tingling has subsided and I am walking a little more normal. Walking is all I have to look forward to the next couple of weeks. I am just trying to get my calf muscle back. Atrophy had started setting in and can tell the difference now that it is halfway working. But thanks for the prayers, hopefully out will be back on the water in about 6 weeks.

Good luck, you'll probably be very happy that you took that plunge.

Like you said, " it wasn't getting any better." You did the right thing, Garey.
Praying for your full and complete recovery.

By next spring you should be ready to slay some of them Smalljaws at Zookerfest!

I'm glad to see your recovering from surgery and taking notice of a good improvement for your condition. You made the right choice, and God has seen you through it. Now rest and recover my friend. Those bass aren't going anywhere. They will be there when your ready.

Kind of sounds like the surgery was going to happen sooner or latter, so it's probably best that you got it done and over with.
I know it's not easy for a real active guy with some great kids to 'take it easy', but, take it easy, let it heal proper and you'll be back at it better than ever. Better than a long time anyways.
Garey my prayers and thoughts to a speedy recovery!

Can always practice flipping with the boys indoors.

Man that back must of been a little sore after a great ride in that great boat you got there.
