Default oh yeah

Well I finally caught my first bass on a crank today...my b-day. I went to a pond I haven't been to in about 2 weeks and last time I went there were some pads of weeds on top, but not too many. This time most of the lake was covered in it. So I founf one clearing, it was evening and I knew the bass would be active and the sun wasn't shining that much so I decided to throw a chromeblue rapala trap and rip it along the top of the weeds. A few minutes later, BAM. Got my first bass on a trap/crank and it was about 4lbs. Fortunately it flopped around on land and threw the trap(I forgot my pliers.) Anyways, this helped make my pretty cruddy b-day(due to weather earlier) a lot better.

Good Hula, but theres no excuse for ya not to have caught one on a c-rig yet!

Next time you fish a canal, c-fig a watermelonseed fluke and fish it along the dropoff. Thats should probably take care of the other item on your list.

I know I probably could've caught one on a c-rig by now, but I'm just too dam lazy to rig one up. Plus I don't fish that many lakes with canals. You've gotta remember that I am limited to fishing on land 99.9% of the time, so often getting to some deeper spots where I could c-rig isn't an option.

I went out today after getting some advise from PowerBass and use a heavy metalic Rat-L-Trap and pulled it by a fallen tree on my first cast I hooked about a 1/2 pounder . Three or four casts later in the same spot I got a 2 pounder! I think my problem with the ratt-L-trap was that I was jigging it too much so thank you for the advise . BTW Congratz on the 4 lber heh not a bad birthday present if I do say so myself!

Hula,

nice job! I don't catch a lot of bass on cranks. However, yesterday at my friend's camp, he was catching them on a floating Rapala twitchbait crank. He caught a 3 lb and a another 3 lb the day before on one. Guess they can work well.
