Default Whats it worth ?

I found a 1997 17' bass tracker aluminum boat. It has a merc 9.9 ( perfect for the 3 10hp limit lakes I fish ). I havent seen it yet , but will tomorrow. He says its always stored in doors and he bought it new. Asking 2500.00 ?

I don't know too much about them but my buddy just sold a late 80s Bass Tracker that was more of a Vee hull with a 25HP(?) for $2,500. His was in great shape and had a newer trolling motor though.

Sounds like a pretty decent price to me! I would also start out low - guessing you can get it for 2000.

Well , I went and looked at it. I know its close to 15 years old , so its probably in decent shape for its age , however. The carpet was worn out and heavily stained. The seats were perfect. The windshield as cracked , the aluminum was heavily stained. The trolling motor mount was cracked. While I was there he had 3 people call about it , so he turned down my 2k offer. So , I was looking for a steal , and I dont think that was a steal....so me and my money came home. The motor started right up and purred.... maybe I should have bought it.

Chances are the guys that called about it while you were there haven't seen it either. So they probably haven't seen the problems with it that you seen and once they see it they will probably have the same feelings towards it you did. If he didn't leave him any wiggle room with the price then he might end up sitting on it for a while, I mean who wants to pay asking price for a used boat? Keep looking and I bet you find one that you like better. By the time you fixed all of the things that were wrong with it you would have put enough money into it to buy a lot newer boat that doesn't have these problems.
