Depends on your strengths....What type of water do you prefer to fish? And at what stage are the fish there right now? Post spawn or in a summer time pattern?

They should be in a summer time pattern....I like to powerfish with jigs and stuff shallow but I don't think this lake is great for that this time of the year....in the main lake they are like 24 feet deep and the thermocline is around there.....

The dam looks good. You have a mess of points, too-a C-rig and deep running crankbait on the points might produce as well. You are right they are in summer pattern so fish shallow early and move deeper as the day warms up/sunlight intensifies.

oh looky points!!!!

start at the p1 point hit L4 the 64 bridge L7 and L9.. if this fails go to the bank across from L10 and crank it. it will likely have a currant and a steep looking bank..

sit on the points with a c rig and a football jig. try retrieving it both ways from the bank side and the lake side.

In the morning i'd fish shallow areas of the lake. Look for structure along the bank and throw jigs to it. But since at this time of year the heat sets in early i'd expect the shallows to heat up pretty fast, in which i'd move to deeper waters near small creek openings. Points are also good and that dam will be a good place to try out later in the day when the heat really sets in. I wouldnt start there though. when it gets to summer fishing, i like to think morning and evening shallow water, afternoon deeper waters. Also assuming you ahve GPS/depth finder i'd look for structure on the bottom out in the deep parts, myaybe old creek beds or deeper channels. good fishin'

I'd pull the map up on topozone or angling-technologies for a better idea what the topograhy was prior to making the trip.

I like to dropshot too....I'm thinking about doing some of that....

zook what kinda crank would you recommend if I could ask for water clarity that you can see about 5 feet down? Blueish water..I'm thinkin dt 22 or strike king 5 series.....

.....I'm gonna practice up there....hopefully.....
It's got a 13 inch length limit I do believe.....that is why I might fish a dropshot.

Is there usually current in this lake? If so that would determine where I worked. But the points, and bends are usually good places to start. If you want powerfishing, then just start hitting the points, and mouths of the creeks. If you want to catch fish, then let them tell you if power fishing is want they want, or perhaps more of a finesse approach is needed. Vegetaion, and wood are always thing I like to pinpoint on any given body of water.

Thats right lizards,
any point with a channel going by it will hold fish all year round.
If its steady fair weather the fish may be to either side of the point, if its big weather change or flood they will concentrate on the point. So if you
havent been on this water, I'd say try that, at least the odds are in your favor.

depends on water depth as lizard will tell ya i can cast a LONG ways with a crank.. you want a bait to hit bottom early and keep at it.. if it is 5-6 feet deep and drops into 20 feet. you want a 10-12 foot diver.. this covers the water colum better with less work than a dd22 or a poes 400..

strike king series 5-6, norman big n,lucky craft deep diver, poes 300-400,they all work you just need to use the color that works best in that lake..if shad color works in shallow water it will work in deep water..

round here i like the rock color scale- clark gable,homer,peppie/shunk,blueback chart.. the list goes on and on.. as long as it is loud and colorful it will work -more or less-

Zook - you sure he shouldn't C-rig P3 and P7 and crank P13 too while he's at it? Just to balance things out a little.

BPACA it's been a few years since I was there. Depending on when your going to fish it I can tell you that they have got alooooooot of rain arund there and it will push some of the fish up into the buck brush in the shallows. Also I think that it's P3 around to P4 there is a ledege in there that us to hold fish and if the water is high I think that cove right past P4 may be a good early moring place for you. Let me know when you are fishing and I will try and get you some info several of my friends still live in the area and fish there quite a bit. Send me and e-mail if you want maybe the best way to get me bdr_rector@yahoo.com

no kicker look at how the currant would hit the point. it would fall away after it hits the point neck. less currant the channel would be 100 yards off the bank you want the channel and the point as close as possible..

p-13 looks like a spring time area.. in the middle of summer it may hold fish but not sizable ones..

P1 has a channel fork on it....looked good to me....Hopefully I can find out some of the color of plastics and stuff that are producing.....sometimes a color can be hot on a lake.....

Zook - You think with all that "currant" the lake level will drop about 2.5' with the outgoing tide????? Might have to pull him back off the points and hit the grass edges in the creek channels.

you mean this is a tidal lake?? nope i would not change the areas i chose above. boat position and tidal flux are critical.. sit farther off the bank.. fallin tides are best an rising tide makes for tough fishing..slack tides is anybody's guess..
