I've never seen one "in combat" but I'm certain that the concept is a great one. It will require some study and on-the-water time to be able to utilize it to maximum potential but will prove it's worth in little time.
I've seen sample imaging as provided by the manufacturer and a couple of owners and I am impressed. Downside? Lotsa $$$$$. FR |

Hank Parker's show did an entire episode on it, as did Charlie Ingram's, and the pictures provided by the samples don't do it justice. They show the tire tracks from road beds, I mean the detail is amazing. I think it will totally revolutionize the finding of structure. If I was a pro, I'd absolutely get one.

Me too, Recon, but I think I'll wait a bit. When something new like that comes out I try to wait until they work all the bugs out. I sure like what I see, though.

Had a meeting the other night and the guest speaker showed us the 997 and what it was capable of. He's sending me pictures of some of the stuff he's found using the sonar on the Potomac River and other bodies of water. I'll post it as soon as I can.
He also stated that the stuff that is out today will be outdated in the next 2-3 years! If you are amazed at what is out today then just wait (but not too long). |

on another site they were talking about these. i guess hummingbird sent some reps to do a demo on the water for a big outdoor store. while they were out on the lake looking at the locator it came accross what looked to them as a dead body on the bottom. they called water patrol who in turn called a dive team and sure enough it was a dead body. not swearing that to be the truth but i don't doubt it by what i see so far.
