S-shaped worms?
Wondering if any of you guys know of any worms that are molded into shapes other than just straight worms....like an S-shaped worm or something like this that holds its shape?

Those worms are designed to be used on the Whacky rig, which is a specially designed jighead with a "disc" or "darter" style head, that you hook the worm in the middle (through the egg sack). The action is very erratic on the fall. Used in a lift and drop presentation.

Itīs not an S shaped worm, itīs a straight worm that for advertisement purposes was arranged to be S shaped for the pic. Itīs a Berkley Gulp Floating Crawler.

BT- Bob S. touched on the only one I know of. Jackall Lures makes a flick shake worm for their wacky jig that has a curve to its tail. It's not nearly as bent as the advertising photo you posted, though. For what it's worth, In-Fisherman has (or used to have) some videos on their website that show how to rig a worm with curves to give it a swimming motion in the water.

there is a worm that is molded in a "s" but i can't remember the name of it. i ran accross it one night while i was just messing around on the internet and didn't pay much attention, then a few weeks later i seen a comercial on the outdoor channel for it. i just kinda chalked it up to another gimick bait but if i run accross it again or remember the name i will let you know.

Basically, what ide like to do is somewhat make my own one of those doug hannon topwater snake things...it looks like a neat concept but the size of the thing seems to probably limit it to only catching huge fish here and there (and the price is a little steep, too)...Seeing as though there are almost no 'large' bass here in RI, I thought if I could float a smaller worm on the surface, i could rake in the average size bass..
I picked up some floating jigheads in the walleye section of bass proshops this afternoon and put both floating worms and regular worms on the back of it. The regular worm just dangles down from the surface of the water and the floating worm stays right on the surface like the doug hannon snake, but doesnt have any of that pretty snake movement that the S-bends give the real one. The fish were ALL OVER it. I couldnt believe it. Both the surface floating and the ones that dangled down. Real neat. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Sounds awesome. I'll have to give the floating jighead a try. I always love trying something new. What size jigsheads (or hooks?)?

They're Northland highball floaters...
http://www.northlandtackle.com/Categ...in.taf?cat=216 http://www.northlandtackle.com/Categ...in.taf?cat=217 These might even look even better rigged with a worm behind it...but I didnt see any at the store.. http://www.northlandtackle.com/Categ...in.taf?cat=102 They were the biggest ones BPS carried...Im not sure of the size of the hook...im not extremely fishing saavy like that, but they're about average sized hooks for regular rubber wormin'. Ill check the package out tomorrow. |

C-Rig, I have to ask... Why were you thinking of something called a "slinker" at dinner. That's just too weird! |
