What kind of boat do you run?
Well since I'm new here and don't know anyone I'm just curious what kind of boats you all are running? Personally I have a 2004 Ranger 185 DVX with a 175 Yamaha HPDI. It's not the biggest boat I've owned but gets around the woody lakes in Missouri well.

I run a heavily modified 14' aluminum starcraft with a 28 horse johnnyrude. I am basically trying to install as many types of bass boat conveniences as I possibly can on the old girl, although everything is proudly redneck engineered in alabama.

Same as WTL. With a 7.5 Merc. WTL how far along are you on the mods? I wanted to put a front deck on mine. Wanted to get rid of the front seat and maybe have the deck about halfway up to the middle seat. As it is now I stand in the front resting on the front seat. Gets tiring very quick.

Nice Avalanche, I kinda wish they were still making them. As I near retirement I am thinking about downsizing, as most of the close water in my area is ELECTRIC ONLY, and this boat is a bit big for it. It's great when I travel to "big" water, but when I retire those trips will have to be cut back. I've been trying to talk NFE into a trade, but he isn't biting..............

homemade electric anchor system (if it works) more nighttime lighting locking rod locker (just gotta get a lid on it) more floatation foam so I know its unsinkable I think I am going to do a detailed thread in the next couple days on what I have done. Its a different boat than what anybody on here has seen, and its taken a lot of thought to put everything together. |

i am using a 1997 RAJUN CAJUN 205 TOURNY EDITION. ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS RIG. but i am gonna have to totatly re-do her pretty soon. it has a 97 200 hp johnson venom motor. runs like a top. but gonna tune it up this winter as well. trollor is WAAAYYYY too small a thrust, gonna upgrade it too i hope. one day i hope to restore the entire rig, paint, and carpet and seats. one thing at a time though, one thing at a time.

Here is my Avalanche. Not nearly as fast as Bassfisher's (I only have a 115), but 43 gps is good enough for me right now. I figure if I bought a 175, 65 gps still wouldn't be fast enough to outrun the bankruptcy lawyers. And Boogie...how is my boat better for "little water?" Oh....you mean, it has an aluminum hull that won't be ripped open by stumps and rocks, I get you.

20ft 1990 2002 Allison with a highly modified 200 johnrude venom it goes shallow,it goes fast as for stumps tend to try and dodge them.
Like your alum jobs its fairly light can pick it all up and place on the ball hitch, and no wood to rot as all composite. With 27 p tro4 fishin prop 82,double loaded, with a merc 29 chopper reduced to a 28 over 90,just me and a full livewell.Seldom however is ky lake smooth enough to wind it out. All that and most likly will replace with a 140-150 when a change is needed as they run this boat over 70,and I aint getting any younger, coupled with a thinner wallet now that im retired. |

lilmule, I've never gotten to see an Allison up close but they sound like great boats that not only are fast but get great fuel economy. (probably not at 90 MPH)
I'm also sure that Kevin would want a link to the Member Bass Boat Page that he set up. I got this one for down here in MS so that I can add A/C: (actually I like the heat, and that's not my boat) Here's my 2007 Stratos 285 with a carbed 150 Yamaha: I've added a bit to it but overall it is a great boat. I haven't ridden in too many others since I like to be in mine but for me it gets me on little lakes, draws very little water, and has been on Erie, Saginaw Bay, etc. |

Its old but mine, and will outrun most new stuff with 225 hp on them.
Nothing makes ones day better than taking a 20 year old boat a 14 year old motor and passing everything, including xs whatever Sort of a john rude with an attitude, that runs on 87 oct. I still get better than 4 mpg average when not wot Last edited by lilmule; 07-11-10 at 11:35 PM. |
