Default torandos in alabama

wel.......guess i spoke too soon on the tornado call gang. alabama is getting POUNDED now. cullman was hit the hardest i think. said the funnel was half a mile wide. another one hit the city of warrior, al. main street is not accasible from all the trees and debris in the road. i called my dad, everyone in my family is ok. nothing is damaged and no one is hurt.
guntersville state park campgorund is also hit hard. workers are cutting their way to the campsite, no one knows how many injured, dead or what. can't get to them just yet. this is form a tornado that hit this morning. rumor is some campers are trapped inside thier campers and have trees on them so they can't get out. this is so far jsut a rumor. more tornados are popping up everywhere around here. lisa and i are ok. i think the storm is going about 20 miles north of us and moving northeast by north. we have 2 more rounds or fronts heading our way. i will tell you folks what happens as i hear it. unless our power goes out of course. thanks for praying for us in advance and thanks for the texts to see if we are ok.

Just to pass it along, John is ok, just he has no power. I've been texting him since he lost power to give him a heads up about any storms cells coming his way.

I am glad to hear that he is fine. What about our other Southern Brothers and Sisters? I am starting a new thread on it so we can try to keep an update.

Prayers go out to those who are suffering losses during this unpredictable time.

Keep us updated on how they are doing. Looking at some of the video on the news this morning....wow.

Mississippi, can you tell me if anything hit around Oxford? More specifically the Bruce/Calhoun City area?

Found this article:

A tornado touched down east of Oxford at about 1:50 p.m., damaging several homes and knocking trees down across many roads in this part of Lafayette County. Some reports also have come in regarding residents trapped in their homes. The tornado’s path appears to have started near the Highway 7/9 split, moving northeast to just west of Yocona, and it then proceeded on across Highway 6 East. Houses on county roads 334, 469, 415, 421 and 471 reportedly sustained damage. Power lines have also been blown down. There were so many reports for assistance that emergency crews were requesting additional help to remove trees to allow for emergency vehicles to respond.

That's just a couple miles south of Oxford, not as far south as Bruce or Calhoun City. There's nothing specifically about either town, which hopefully means there's nothing to report.

We had one touch down here this morning not far from the school near Dahlgren Naval Base. School went into tornado drill and all students were moved into the hallways away from the windows for 15 minutes or so. No damage done here.

Thank you and MississippiBoy. I'm one of the lucky ones living in south Alabama. We didn't get any of the bad stuff here.... this time. I have heard the Tornado warning sirens sounding off 3 times already this year so fingers crossed we don't get hit by any.

God Bless those for their losses from these storms.
