Guns!!!
For anyone who is wanting to buy a gun in SC, wait until the day after thanksgiving!!!!
Why? Because starting at 12:01 after thanksgiving and it continues for 48 hours, there will be no tax on guns being sold...... if the gun you purchase is 522 dollars, you pay 522 dollars even, nothing else...it is against the law for them to add tax to the purchase.... However, this does not include ammo or accessories.... However, if a gun is engraved or needs to be shipped, then there is also no sales tax on them.... So if you pruchase a gun for 200 and the engraving is 20 and the shipping is 50 then you pay 270 dollars even... Also, if they are sold out and you take a rain check on that item, then there is no tax on that item as long as you go ahead and purchase the gun at that time....you just have to make sure the sale happens in the 48 hour range..... i just thought some of yall would like to know!!!! |

That's cause the state of Alabama gets 90% of their revenue off gun taxes. The rest comes off chewin tobacco, and the reason Bama isn't the wealthiest state in the union is that there's no roadkill tax Just kiddin man, every time I've been to Bama, it's been great.

I'll just buy threw private party to avoid taxes, background check, and gov. having records of the transaction.

Hopefully there will still be some guns to choose from. Since the elections, there has been a run on guns. The democrats are not exactly friendly with gun owners, and the fear is that stronger regulations on gun purchases and taxing ammo to death will make owning a handgun difficult. I was talking to the owner of a local gunshop here, and he has been selling guns faster than he can get them. He told me that nationwide, there is beginning to be a gun shortage due to heavy purchasing. He's not even sure what guns he can still get his hands on. And this is not some small time dealer. He owns two gunshops with a large inventory, normally, and a shooting range. There was also a front page story in our paper about the stock of handguns and some rifles in area stores drying up.
