What do yall fish with in really clear water with alot of moss on REALLY hot days?

U wanna go out in the morning or more towards the evening... but use a bright plastic worm or some short of jointed minnow!

Recently I went to a pond just as you state. We fished with Senkos and let the bait fall slowly through the openings between the moss. Did ok, and time of day didn't have a big factor. These fish were under the moss and the bait fell down right in front of the bass. Sometimes they would just take off with it and sometimes they would strike. Watch your line.

yeh they kill buzzbaits any time of the day there but now the moss is taking over the lake since its really hot here in vicksburg, ms. i have had alot of success with ZOOM electric blue lizards 6" but they have pretty much stopped bitting that. also what about a carolina rig, what colors are best in clear lakes this time of the year? and also what color senko would be best?

Welcome to the forum!

Since the moss is starting to take over the pond that is where I'd grab a soft plastic stickbait like a Tiki Stick or a Zoom Fluke. They are pretty much weedless so you can fish them in and over the moss-I like to drag them across the top and let them sink into the open areas.

Stickbaits-I like watermelon seed, baby bass, watermelon red, and in Tiki Sticks baby bass/pearl swirl, watermelon/chartreuse swirl and green pumpkin/chartreuse swirl.

Flukes-I like Smokin' shad, watermelon seed, watermelon red, and watermelon pro blue.

Hi Reb,

Did you try tiki shadick at the same situation? I'm starting to use tiki shadick across and sink the top this year. It works just great! Also I can walkin' dog it on top of the vege. A lovely weedless bait.

i like to fish flukes, senkos and most of all trick worms in those conditions.
