Default Suburban Sea Trout

Last year I got two nice 15 inch sea trout at CBBT decided to try a dish that is made for a guide on the move.

I took the beheaded gutted sea trout and placed sliced lemons on doubled heavy foil squares. Placed the trout on top of the lemons and covered the other side of the fish with lemon slices. This style of cooking can not use any oils. Wrapped them up nice and tight in the double heavy tinfoil I then placed one on the drivers side exhaust manifold and one on the passenger side manifold.

Drove 3 hours and rotated them. Drove another 3 hrs in the hot June sun.

The drivers side was perfect but the passenger side was a little raw.

Next time both will go on the drivers side.

Hahahaha, capt. Did it have a little it of a carbon monixide taste? I have heard and seen dishes cooked on motor s, exhaust and such. I have even cooked on a generator before. sometimes it is good, sometimes just eatable.

When I was a kid in Wyoming, my step dad would put cans of pork and beans on the engine to heat up while hunting. I was always afraid they would pop, but they only swelled up.

So did you find out what was wrong with the passenger side manifold?

hehehe... I can see that conversation with the mechanic...

Captmike ~ "There's something wrong with one of my manifolds."

mechanic ~ "So what is it doing to make you think that? Is it making any noise? Any odd vibrations?"

Captmike ~ "No. The fish on the drivers side was perfect but the passenger side was a little raw."
