not bad at all friend. remember this when buying a set up. it doesn't matter what anyone else says or thinks in the end. cause it is what makes YOU happy. like me for example. i would love to get a revo, but i can't afford that at THIS time. gonna get one...one day. but right now i am happy with what i have cause i am gonna get me some more jigs from c-rig and bigbassin144. and gonna get a few others as well. when i think i have a good enough arsenal, then i will up grade my rods and reels.

I thought it was a good deal and better then what I could of got from a lot of places for the price. Also didn't want to spend to much on my first.
I just hope I get use to the right hand reeling.

Something I do when setting up a reel the first time is if there is a brake adjustment I set it to its stiffest setting and work my way to looser 1 click and cast at a time. This will save you alot of wasted line. Another thing that may help you is to stop your cast short at first and build up a little at a time.
I just learned about 6 months ago and these are the tricks that got me through it.

Once you get the line drop rate to your liking and the brakes set, start out with something heavy to practise casting with, its a lot easier to begin with than trying to throw a 1/8th ounce jig head.
I always turn the brakes off and adjust the tension knob for the line drop, I put a lure on of any weight and let it fall to the ground slowly, then watch the spool make one more revolution. No birdnest..if it keeps turning then adjust the tension knob a tweak or two till it slows the drop and results in the spool only turning once after the lure hits the ground.
Then I adjust the brake, if it has a dial setting I will start at 4, if its got 6 brake system I put two on and four off to start with.

Doing it that way cut my casting distance by almost 10 yards.
