Smile Newbie here Joe Pool

Hello i'm kinda new to these forums but have been reading posts for a while. I'm a catfish and crappie person most of the time but am going to give bass fishing a serious shot Just bought a boat my first one and am going to Joe Pool tomorow. Anyone fish there if so got some tips that might help? Anything will be appreciated

I hear they like those red traps all over TX. I talk to a guy from over that way from time to time and he said they are starting to move on to the slopes (8-12') of the spawning grounds and grass lines are holding fish around Rayburn. I hear they just caught a whopper out of Conroe, too. Just a general idea though, I don't about Jo-Po.

Bobby-take a look at the TPW fishing reports-just google Texas fishing reports and that will give you a starting point. Another GREAT resource is the Texas Fishing Forum. A lot of the guys who post there fish Joe Pool.

I haven't fished Joe Pool, but another great lake in that area is Ray Roberts. Worth the trip IMO.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! I just fished the Div 125 ABA tournament on Lake Allatoona over here in Georgia yesterday. Came in 2nd place for a nice check.
Rebbasser, I should've told him about the TFF (Been a monderator on that forum since 1999)! DOH!. I've known Bobby since about 1993, great guy! Good thing he can type because he sure can't hear very well (I wear hearing aids too so I can pick on him!).
As for the red traps on Joe Pool, the water is just too green for thos traps. I lived not 10 minutes off the water there for 16 years and fished the heck out of that lake. One of the best drop shot and carolina rig lakes in North Texas! I heard the hydrilla dissappeared last year, and I hope that is only a temporary thing. When the grass took hold it turned that little lake into a fantastic fishery! If it's gone, it's going to be tough!

Ya'll give Bobby a lot of suggestions for bassfishing, I think he's going to like it!
