Yeah you could if you really needed to but I would stick to your other rods for bass . My 5 year old caught a 4lber on a ultra light ugly stick this summer

Try beetlespins and rooster tails on that ultralight. Should be lots of fun.

UL fishing is a blast and really can be used as a teaching tool for kids and people just learning. Just my .02 worth.

THrowing little mepps spinners or rooster tail, you'll catch bass and bluegill.

beetle spins, small spinners, rooster tails/meppss

a 2lber is fun on an UL rod, and if the drag is pretty loose its more fun, alott of WIZZZZ for a small fish

Let me tell you a story. When I was 15 years old my family took a week long fishing trip to Cass in Minnesota. For two days we caught very little. We were after pike, walleye, and perch. We were using all the usual lures for those fish. Then on the third day around 11 am I walked to the end of the pier with my light weight spinning outfit and started casting a 1/8 oz Mr. Twister Beetle spin. My first cast I nailed a nice 4 pound pike. That woke me up big time. In half an hjour I caught all kinds of fish. Soooo, I spread the news and the rest of my family switched to the same lures. We caught tons, of pike, perch, a few walleye. All on ultra light outfits with little 1/8 oz. twister beetle spins. So yeah, you can use it for bass. I often do when nothing else seems to work. The nice thing is that with that kind of tackle you never know what your going to catch.
