Default Good weekend

I fished the Potomac with a buddy of mine Sat. Man did the wind blow that day. We caught 10 bass total but nothing over 2.7 lbs. We caught them on flats with spinnerbaits and rattle traps. First picture is a 2.6 I caught that day on a spinnerbait.
Sun afternoon I went to some private ponds (old golf course) with a buddy and we did pretty good. I caught 4 bass (2.7, 2.8, 4.0, 6.0) on a purple/blue 5/16 oz Stanley jig with a PB&J Super Chunk Jr. trailer. 3 of them including the bigger ones were caught swimming the jig. All fish were shallow around wood cover. The water was heavy stained to muddy from the rain we've been having. The fish seemed to want the bait a little more subtle. I didn't get bit at all on a chatterbait and only 2 hit a spinnerbait (miss 1 and lost the other). My buddy's son caught a 3.7 lber on a small Shad Rap and also 2 small fish. If the weather will cooperate we may try to go again this week.

BA - I'm getting out on the river tomorrow. You pre-fishing for an upcoming event?

No 3D... just fishing for fun. I'll be fishing the Castaway's this weekend on the James/Chick. Haven't been there yet but hopefully they will be in the same places (on the Chick) as they usually are!!!

BA - We found them loaded at the creek mouths in small areas of grass or rock cover. We weighed 15.4 and 15.0 (mine) and best combined five were 19+ or maybe 20 with a 5.0, 4.5, 4.0, 3.5 and a bunch in the 2-3lb class. Traps and RC's took most of the fish with me catching two (one culled) on a chatterbait and plastic creature.

Can't help you with the Chick/James this time of year but it seems that you have that covered. Our Chick tournament is coming up in early June. Good luck.

That sounds like a great day 3D! Yea I should have the Chick covered for this weekend. If they are in the usual haunts we should be good. Just hope they'll bite after the cold front Friday night!!!

We stayed in Aquia last weekend. It suppose to be good right now. We also caught a few in Arkendale.

Funny because we were running down to Aquia to fish but it was too cold to make the run. We stopped in a couple spots and once we got on them there wasn't any reason to keep on going. Cold front didn't affect these fish as we saw snow flakes around 2PM.

Check out my KVD Red Eye vs Yozuri Hardcore Custom post.
