Reels under $250
I'm going to be buying 2 new reels this month. I already plan on buying one of the new 200E7 Curados.....but I need suggestions for the 2nd. I would like it to be under $250 (and preferably under $200 if at all possible).
I haven't bought any new baitcasters in several years.....and I am typically a hard-core Shimano fan, but I am open to new ideas. Thanks |

Curados are typically selling for $179 in catalogs.

I've got two Revo's, a STX and a SX, I really like them both and they are under $200.

ive got two revos also an s and a premier and i love them both the premier will cast to the moon and the s will do close to the same but youve gotta work your thumb a little more on the s the premier will pretty much cast itself if setup properly. i bought the s from basspro for 99 bucks and the premier off ebay new for 225 shipped

I have almost all Shimanos (8 Curados + others) and really like them. I've tried some other reels and the only one that I have that is close, if not better, is the new Lew's Tournament Pro Speed Spool. I've only used it about 10-15 times so I can't vouch for durability yet, but it is smooth and casts well. Outside of Shimano that would be my only recommendation.

Before recommending anything what rod are you looking to match the reel up with? And what type of fishing are you doing? Cranking? Flipping?

I bought a lew's speed spool reel a month or two ago. I love it. For less that $100, I don't think you can beat it.

Find a Daiwa Zillion under $250 on ebay. You'll love it. If I could afford them, I'd probably be fishing nearly all Zillions.
