Bass Pro Carbonlite Reels
These are the gold reels that "The Den of Iniquity" disontinued a year or so ago when they started producing the Johnny Morris Carbonlite reel.
They have them on sale right now for 59.99, heck of deal, this is basically an upgraded Pro Qualifier, lighter, and carbon fiber handle to boot. I believe these reels to be the equal of the Lews Tournament Pro, and very similar to the Revo Premier. It would be hard to find another reel with these features and quality for this price.

Thanks for the heads up Tony.
Edit....My DOI is sold out of them, they had one lefty, display model left. Oh well, I didn't really need one anyway.

They are still listed as "in stock" on the website.

Try doing them as an on-line order. They have 5 dollar shipping right now, so it don't add much.

I had to go to the store for something else, I don't really need the reel but was going to buy one if they had them. I knew they might not have any so I was letting that be my deciding factor. I saved $60 and didn't buy a reel that I didn't really need.

Man thats a steal of a deal. I didn't think they had any of the gold reels left. Like Joe, I don't need any more reels now, but thats hard to pass.

Thanks for the heads up, Tony......just ordered me one. I got several Bass Pro gift cards for Christmas, and have been debating on trying to retire a couple of my cheaper reels and replace them with some better ones. Looks like that's what I'm doing.....

Want to know where the BPS reels are made, check out these links.
http://www.xn--c20bq6o5sh.kr/ http://www.doyofishing.co.kr/goods/view.php?goodsno=5 These are large Korean reel mfg's. You can order from them the same as BPS, Lews, Browning or anyone else. They have a minimum orders of around 1000 pieces and cost anywhere between 35 and 80 dollars a piece.

That's pretty crazy. Some of those reels definitely look familiar. I can't get it to translate for some reason but I wonder how it works. Do companies design their own reels or do they buy pre-designed reels from this company and put their own logos on them?

I think it is kinda like buying a car, you pick the model you want and then add the options. If you look around on the one site you will see spools and handles, and knobs. I am sure they can do all kinds of stuff to make your reel a little different from the next guys.

I think I fixed the other link, if you go to check it out, click on english at the top right of the page, then click on products, you will see several reels you recognize.

The gold carbonlite reels appear sold out now? ...I tried ordering one yesterday and couldn't find them anywhere on the BPS website. If anyone can find them there, a link would be appreciated. I wanted to buy one of these last year, but got P.O.ed at BPS cause their online sale was different than thier in-store sale, then I could only find the wrong-hand retrieve and by the time I figured out what I wanted and made 3 trips to BPS (45 miles away) the sale was off.
