Default Michigan Extends Bass Season

New laws in Michigan!
Bass Season:
Sat. before Memorial Day - Dec. 31:
All other waters including Great Lakes

NEW: All Lower Pen. waters including Great Lakes: Last Sat. in April - Fri. before Memorial Day. All bass caught must be immediately (see common terms p. 18) returned to the water.

I was really worried about this and did not want to wait until June to start fishing.

Full Rules: http://www.mi.gov/documents/general-...s_151604_7.pdf

Good for you guys. I would hate to have a bass season. I don't know how you would survive not fishing from January to june.

Sweet!
The longer during the season you can stay on the water,
the better you'll be

Thank You Mr.Bender for the Information, I just purchassed my 2006 Fishing License from K-Mart and they didn't have the new Fishing Regulations Guide out yet. That is an important change when you want to start fishing early in the season. I would think that a fishing regulation guide would be mandatory when obtaining a fishing license. When the DNR issue you a citation they don't care if you know the laws or not Or have a copy of the new regulations with you..

Should have gotten your license at your local Bait Shop, they know the changes.
