Hit the pond...

Went out to a golf course pond i recently found with a friend to do some good ole bass fishin. It was the first time i've freshwater fished in i'd say a good month or so. Went out there and we both started throwing weighted t-rigged red shad tiki stiks... lots of fish hittin the surface but we didnt get any hits... i ventured off to another near by pond and changed to a black zoom worm with a yellow tail... had no luck, then i heard my friend hollering for me so i figured he musta caught himself a good'un. Got over there and it was a dink, 8" at the most. I switched back to the tiki and caught a 11" maybe 12" bass, my drag was set loose for some reason and it made fighting him interesting, i kept it at the drag setting ebcause it was a lot more fun letting him run some line off then just plain horsing him in. we both kept on fishing for a few more hours, he stayed true to the Tiki, and i decided to see what the jitterbug would get me since it was now getting dark... had one boil up on it but other than that no takers... we ended the day both catching one bass... it was nice to finally be able to lip a bass again. We're going out on the gulf tomorrow for some good ole flat fishin so i'll have another report coming soon.
