I got to admit, I haven't fished with one, but they look sharp. A forum member, Bender, has a micro crankin' rod and might be able to shed some light on it. I wanted to throw it a few times last we went fishing, but I got in my grove and just didn't think about it once we were on the water. I think the only thing I saw about it that I didn't care for by glancing at it was how close the first guide was to the reel seat and the high angle of the line from the reel to that guide. Seems like it would cut down on casting distance by adding resistance. But he didn't seem to have any problem without, so oh well.

I haven't used it a ton yet, but I like it so far. Mine is a 7'11" MH cranking rod. I am still trying to get the hang of loading up the rod on the cast. Overall I really like it, but on mine also the first guide isn't completely straight so I would check that if you are out shopping for them.

I got to handle a few of these rods at the Alabama get together. I don't know which models, but I know one was a 7'6" Cranking Rod.

They feel fairly light in hand, no doubt due to the balance provided by the micro guides. They seem to cast further than regular guides, but without testing similar rods, side by side, with the same reel, I couldn't say for sure.

If I didn't read it myself, I wouldn't believe it.

I meant resistance from the high angle from the reel guide to the first guide. You can stretch the first guide out and lower the angle. Don't be a preacher in a new religion and take the scripture out of text to have support in your beliefs. HAHAHAHA Jackin' with you

It's all about the angle of the dangle.

hahahahaha, oyu guys crack me up everytime.

look, i got 3 of the duckett rods from zooker. micro guides help in distance AND in MY case, lessens bcklashs too. 2 rods are 7 footers and 1 is 7 1/2 foot. they are not as light as the rod ol bruce let me handle, but they are lighter than my other rods. it is like the bait just GLIDES through the air. i cast the same distance with less umph when i load up. i can toss it easier too. it doesn't do much with light baits, like say 1/4 oz stuff, but i use a spinning reel for that anyway.
guess i am saying yes to micro guides on rods.

I've had 3 total 2 in use now. 1 broke on cast, and the boat (got hung between the console and the side of the boat) broke the tips off of the other 2. I have replaced the tips on the 2 remaining rods and they work great, I love the weight, sensitivity, the micro guides on the rods. I do not think they are very durable at all. Good rods if you take good care of them, if you fish your equipment hard like me, i'd go with something more durable.
