Gerber Flick
Boys, at Cabelas todai I bought a Gerber Flick Multi tool. When I got it home i was using it to remove a nut on a reel and one oft the jaws snapped off. Save yourself some trouble and avoid this multitool like the plague. NOt a good fishing tool

That sucks Reb... Surprising too as Gerber usually makes some decent stuff.
I seriously considered a Gerber for my most recent pocket knife, but went with a Buck instead. No regrets so far, except for letting my friend use it and him dropping tip first on the concrete... BB

Thanks for the warming buddy. Thats a shame it broke already. Like BigBassin said, Gerber is supposed to be decent stuff.

Well, boys, I spoke too soon. BB, I think you are correct. I took it back to Cabelas, exchanged it, and could not be happier with the new one. This one works like the other Gerbers I have-extremely well. I was a mite irritated when I first posted, and will admit I was wrong in initial my judgment of the Flik Fish. This is a fantastic fishing multitool and I can now recommend it highly. My apologies to Gerber for my hasty and incorrect judgment.

Reb, good to hear that your problem was resolved! Your initial feelings were completely understandable. I would've been upset too.

Glad it worked it. I have been thinking about getting something like that for some time.

Glad to hear that Cabelas took care of it for you, their service is the best. I recently bought a Gerber Octane there to replace the Letherman Skeletool CX that the TSA took out of my computer bag (I didn't know it was there and passed through a dozen airports with it before being caught). Overall I like it, but the pliers don't lock in the closed position and slide out in my pocket sometimes. Also the knife blade will not close all the way anymore, maybe I bent the cover when cutting wood last week.
