i never thought i would compliment lures on having nice curves...but those look really good man...i especially like the little ''egg'' crank body,lol...
im working on my first lure as well,so ill keep an eye out for more of your pics.....maybe ill learn something...ive never made a crank so i do have any advice, but i would say tune them before painting...make sure they run right.
good luck, they look great so far.

Seal them before you put them in water, or you'll need to let them dry completely before you paint them.

So than you just used a thin piece of cedar? That's cool!

you might want to go to tackle underground, it is a website that is dedicated to "homebrew lures". The hard bait section is quite extensive. They go through all the details about lip materials, placement and angles and what kind of results you can expect. They also go through the weighting process. It's www.tackleunderground.com. Enjoy!
BTW, those bodies do look great.

basstech pointed you to the best if not one of the best sites to learn.

That is mighty fine carving!

Your next step is to get the blanks to balance in the water upright. This part happens to be the most challenging part, but your choice of cedar will probably make it easier to balance them vs. if you started out with balsa. The latter is so buoyant that there is less room for error.

Once you finish getting them to float upright unaided, the rest is clear sailing.

Keep us posted!

P.S. Catching fish is already an awesome feeling as all of us know. However, catching fish on something you make with your own two hands is a feeling that can't be described.

I should have them painted up by the end of next week. I'll post some pics of the finished projects. What colors would you guys go with?

Never mind the colors we want, choose what you want. But if you insist...Rainbow Trout, Parrot, Fire Tiger, and make up a personal color scheme...

Very impressive that you've got them to balance already. Well done!

This is awesome. I get inspired by someone to make come cranks, and that gets Bass Boss and then keysd13 and BigBassin144 to have a go at it.
