Default What to improve

If you had one thing that comes to mind that could improve your bass fishing , which of the following would apply to you and why?

1. Get a better understanding of fish migration and seasonal movement.

2. Being able to read lake topo maps and apply that knowledge

3. Knowing what to do when the fish aren't on the bank (or shallows)

4. Having better equipment ...rods, reels, boat, tackle

5. Having confidence in making the right change when the pattern changes.

6. Improving on some aspect of presentation that you would like to use, but don't have confidence in yet.

7. Being able to relate to the boater that you know where the fish are
and how they are biting..i.e. not letting others intimidate you.

8. Being able to spend more time on the water.

9. Being able to apply what you read in magazines and see on fishing shows when the situation occurs, rather than drawing a blank and
tying on every other lure in your tacklebox.

10. Quit putting pressure on yourself during tournies, especially if the results are usually negative in terms of weighed in fish.

8. That is the most important for me now, since I have not gotten out yet this year! After that the rest are all good points. 3. was a big problem for me last year, but hopefully I will be able to apply drop-shotting to help with that this year.

#3, because it ties into the one you left out-getting better at reading my electronics and understanding what it is I'm looking at on the screen.

I would have to say #8, because once you get to spend more time on the water, all of the other items you mentioned work themselves out. You learn about all the other important things which make you a better fisherman.

I think its 9..but not really the scenario you gave. I would like to be a lot more clear on particular conditions and what it does to the fish. I think with that knowledge, most of the other things listed don't really matter. Knowing what to do for particular conditions is the key.

I would say 8 and 10. The reason for 8 is that the more time you spend on the water the more the rest comes to ya whether its by trial and error or just doing it. 10 I do it all the time. I get wound up like a 10 day clock and have to mentally calm down. Usually done after the first 30 minutes or so. Kinda laugh at myself and tell myself "Hell your fishing now do it".

i'd say 1 & 5 cause they go together!!!! and that is probably my weakest aspect of fishing....well that and getting more time to fish but that isn't up to me solely!!

4. Having better equipment ...rods, reels, boat, tackle

I have no boat. The wife and I are trying to find a house, so no boat in the near future. I am limited to what the boater wants to do. I can learn from him, but not trying new things for myself and finding the fish myself hurts my abilities in a way.

Which bring me to not spending enough time on the water. If I had a boat I wouldn't be on other people's schedules.

I would say 3 and 8. I would like to have more time to spend on the water for sure. As far as 3. I just need to sharpen my deep water skills. I have plenty of confidence C-Rig'n but need to expand upon that. I have no problem getting off the bank and structure fishing but when the bass are say 15'-25' deep... that's where I need to learn a little more!

I anit good in early post spawn. They just sit out in deeper waters sometimes stacked off breaks near the spawning flat, but they prove to be most difficult to catch.1-10 could be a problem for me as well depending on the day or conditions, sometimes I struggle to catch fish for no particular reason other than because. 2,4,6,and 8. i think that everybody could get better at a certain technique and that comes with knowledge and time on the water which helps you to have more confidence that a you will catch a fish which in turn, when using that technique in a tourny, you will be putting less pressure on youself cause you have confidence in your abilitys.

well JB...i would have to say none of the above.....instead...if i could find a rich man to where i didn't have to work and i could spend more time on the water....or even to win the lotto and get the same advantage ......that would be my improvement i think......know of any older rich men that need a way to spend their money?....just let me know....i'm available!!!!!....
