One piece of advice before throwing a trap: Either sharpen or better yet change the hooks. The hooks Norman uses are about as sharp as a Q-Tip right out of the box. I used to spend time sharpening them but now just change them.

I use traps year round. Love them, hate the hooks. I primarily use the magnum traps, chrome w/ blue back, some have the orange belly. I have a plano dedicated to nothing but my traps. You will never find me w/o a trap tied on one of my rods. Use a few techniques- really fast and steady, fast w/ occasional stops, steady w/ occasional lift of rod tip or fast, stop, lift tip, take off fast again.

JB, I am always searching the tackle flea markets here looking for more of them for ya. I think I am the only old fool who monkeys with them in my area. They certainly are alot of fun at times but you have to believe in them as well.Ivan
