Default Ever watch "River Monsters"

I wonder if there could be a tournament on freshwater similar to bass tournaments but strictly based on biggest fish caught? No matter the type fish.
Live bait allowed just catch the biggest fish. I assume in U.S. waters it would generally be catfish except where gar are willing to bite or sturgeon.

I think it would be really interesting. I have seen catfish around 100 pounds caught out of the local river. I can only imagine what is in some of our lakes.

Sounds like Tarpon and shark tournies. I don't see why it wouldnt work in fresh water! Sounds fun, Id definitely be entertaining to watch on TV.
