A automatic bilge pump LOL, or maybe some tar ROTFL. Sorry couldn't help myself. Get someone to give you a quote on some welding. If you can't afford that, I have lots of ideas, but none of them are long term, or possibly good for the boat in the long run,and all the boats guru's would slam me for saying them.

i am triing this ideal rod welding but its not the strongest thing out there and i am thinking of putting flat bolts where there should be rivits and then fill in the rest of the seams with calking

really riveting isnt hard or challenging at all . I am sure you can do it...they even have power riveters, I am guessing you'll need some silicone to waterproof the seams, too..I'd drill more hole and then get the right size ALUMINUM rivets, they are easier to smash btw...more than likely you'll be using a AIR rivit gun..
I've had several sears 16ft V hulls that usually sit outside most of thier life.. If you weld it the heat is going to bleed through the other side, I think the rivet job is well in your skills,,all you do is drill, seal the seam, then rivet.. |

If you can't helii-arc the boat use the rivet gun method then go to local auto supply store get the cheap rhino lining stuff and use a small paint roller. IT WORKS. Makes the boat quiet, seals ALL the seams and lasts forever. I know of this process due to several of my friends doing this after reading a article in a bass rag. They tried it and loved it.

that is a great idea I would use Magnaliner. My friend had the inside of his Jeep done with the Rhino lining and it filled all the holes and gaps and made the ride quiet (quite an accomplishment).

Wondering if that it wouldn put a lot of weight on the boat adding the rhino lining. Anybody know the weight per foot, or per gallon, and how many gallons it would take per sq ft.

i looked it up and i found out that a rhino lining adds between 45-65 pounds to a truck bed. i dont know what it is for a boat but that gives you an idea

Silicone wont last real long buddy. That is unless you open up the crack abit, squeeze in the silicone then let the crack relax again. Something about the silicone having prssure on it when put in allows the silicone tolast longer .
