yes, we have a fututre pro, haha, fisherman on the way. not ours.. wifes neice gave birth to grady allen yesterday. he lives in mobile, al. weighed about 9 lbs and 21" . gonna have another nephew to take fishing. that makes it 21 necies and nephews, 4 great nephews and 3 great neices. it may take a couple of years for him to learn to cast, but i am gona get him started early, haha. already got his christmas gift from ol uncle john ready. even though we couldn't have kids, we are proud as any parents. we love to spoil dem kids and make the moms and dads mad, haha.

CONGRATS, I know you'll have fun and some great memories. Just make sure the moms and dads take them back after you spoil them. But jeez, you must be rich or have two jobs to afford all them rods, reels and tackle boxes, cause them youngens make good bait monkeys. By the way a 9lber sounds like a future St. louis Rams tackle to me. LOL

Nothing beats fishing with kids!!! Those are lucky kids to have an uncle as knowledgable and as willing to fish as you are... Let us know how you do with the kids this season.....

I hope you don't crowded by any of the BFL Choo Choo division anglers on Guntersville today!! I hope to get over there in the next couple of weeks and spend a day on the water with ya! South Sauty ought to be getting prime!

well we went today... caught NUTHIN!!! and there weren't many pros there...only 200, hahaha. but they were smarter than us. the went where the fish were i guess. oh well, we'll try tomorrow. and if ya'll have any tips, we sure could use them. winds are 5 to 15 mph outa the west, water temp is 40 to 52 degrees, fairly clear.no one we saw were catching any either. all help is thanked.

Congratulations Bama! I had my boy casting a Zebco when he was 3 years old. He thinks he's a pro now at 5!
If you have water around 50 I'd throw a suspending jerkbait. A jig if they're on the bottom. If you find a pocket on the North side of the lake that's baking in the sun and have some wind then maybe try a spinnerbait. I have a killer spot that when it gets warm and the water temp gets in the 50's I can catch some big bass in a shallow pocket with a SW wind on a spinnerbait. I'm going to try it this week. It's suppose to be warm for a couple days! Good luck to you!
