Default 7-31 retention pond with pics

I swear I must be catching the same fish each time I go out to my retention pond. I caught 4 more tonight - 2 from the big pond and 2 from the narrow one. I have found several good spots along the narrow one that I seem to catch a fish every time. There are a few other spots that I know have some bass hiding there but can't reach it from the bank on one side. The other side is way to weedy for me to try. I may just break out the boat to get closer. Each fish tonight was around a pound. The last one I caught, I threw a super fluke out into the middle of the pond and then started to walk around the lake slowly dragging it behind me about 50 feet. The little guy caught me off guard and almost pulled the rod out of my hands. Darkness made me quit. Four fish in about 1 hour 15 minutes is pretty good if I do say so myself. I have pics of only the first three. The last guy I almost gut hooked and it took me awhile to get him unhooked so I just quickly put him back in the water.

cool man I had the chance to get out for about three hours myself tonight you are lucky to have a place so close to ya . nice fish by the way and i hear what your saying about bank fishing the place we hit way a larger reservoir and it seemed the was to much water to cover by walking around it .

They belong to our home owner's association. You have to live in our neighborhood or be a guest of a resident.

Looks like top water would work well in these ponds.............Buzzer pulled along bank lines or pop-R way out in middle and worked in.

When you throw the pop-r..........throw in wayyyyyyy up high and let it hit and don't move it for about 15 seconds or more.....then pop it once........repeat as needed.

I will try that. Thanks. I know they will hit topwater, I just never threw any topwater. I have had a few missed strikes when I was quickly reeling in the fluke on top of the water because I missed my mark casting and was just going to cast it out again. That should have been my first indicator to change to topwater bait. DUH.

that has been one of my problems lately as well I've been throwing a lot of spinner baits and cranks when I should by all means be throwing a top water or a rigged worm , even though the worm and other plastics have been producing better lately
