Default Amistad lake resort

Anybody stay here b4? I might book a fishing trip for 3nights, 4 days. Do they have boating ramps? Fishing piers?

Thanks,

-stevo

Looks like a nice place. Never been there before, my grandparents have a house down on the lake. Does not say if it has a pier, or boat ramp, but there are many public ramps around the whole lake.

Anglers Lodge is better liked by people around here. Hear stories about lots of thefts i.e. no security at Amistad Lodge. Anglers Lodge watches out for your stuff, plus really nice and helpful people run it.

I have stayed most places down there, and like links said, I prefer Anglers Lodge. There is nothing wrong with Amistad Lake Resort, except the aforementioned burglaries and thefts from your boat. None of the places at Amistad has lakefront access. It is a National Park. Probably your best bets for launching will be Diablo East or Black Brush. Both are very close to either of the lodging choices mentioned (less than 5 miles to ramp). You will need to go by Diable East to get a permit to be on the water. They are $4/day and available from a vending machine at the DE ramp.

I would not recommend Amstad Resort.. they have had some theft and the staff is generally not helpful nor do they have a customer focus.
I usually make a trip to Amistad at least once per month and have found that Anglers Lodge is clean, friendly, has a great tackle shop, good burgers, great breadfast tacos, and they do watch over the parking lot at night. The rooms (while not fancy) are clean and the air conditioners work well. Rates are fair. Also, they open the cafe and tackle shop at 5 am every morning. Diane and Carl are the owners and they go above and beyond what you would expect..

Carl Wengenroth owns the Angler's Lodge and takes great care of his customers. He reportedly puts on a mean breakfast and is the owner of Riverslung Lures which specializes in lures made especially for Amistad. Carl posts regularly on the other Forum that I moderate and is very popular.
