"Nut Jobs" and "cynics" is phrasing it rather mildly. PETA is just the more outrageous public image while their "behind the scenes" organizations that lobbying the lefties in congress and in the state legislative branches to change laws. Those laws range from hunting and sport fishing, to gun control, even expand to include farming, commercial meat production, commercial fishing, Fur production, and access to public lands for the purpose of recreational angling or hunting. They are gaining momentum and if you watch the polls for the upcoming election, they may get a big ally in the Whitehouse, in the form of Obama and Biden! This is perhaps the most important election of our lifetime. There are so many issues at stake, including the very things we joke about on here.

As far as the land of pretend goes. Please note that the restaurant that sprked this is in Switzerland. I can only find one comment on the site where the author included their location. That was in Canada. If you look up PETA and how to contact them, they are located in Norfolk, VA. Just wanted to make sure that you don't try to blame this one on the West Coast.
