My dad's latest work (rod building)
So its been really rewarding and cool watching my Dad build rods again..When I went over there yesterday to go fishing with him..He showed me his re-build on his old Loomis rod that he custom built around 14 yrs ago if I remember right.
He's really liking the split grips,so he wanted to convert it. It stripped everything but the guides and rebuilt it. Needless to say I was blown away by his work and felt that it deserves some recognition...His not satisfied with the Double Chevron butt wrap so he'll probably re-do it,but what really amazes me,is how with all the damn forums and youtube viddys and a sea of vast info on-line..He still figures out a way to up the anny!..This time,it was with polishing off the edges of his winding checks to give them a gold/silver look instead of just striaght gold...Its those little things that make such a huge difference and set off a custom build..Ive never seen it done before..Im sure other builders do it,but they looked great!! And I so happened to have my camera
