Default Live well pumps

Is there a way to check our live well pumps without being in the water? My problem is, I have two live well pumps that are leaking from the live well pump and/or the connecting hose on the pump at the bottom of the hose area. (One is in the bilge area leaking water without being turned on. I can see it dripping from the pump/hose area, and the other one in a storage compartment, leaks while it's running, the pump or the hose) I can’t really tell (Without a mirror on a stick) if it’s coming from the hose or the pump itself. I felt with my finger to see if it gets wet, but it’s too close to tell if it’s the hose or pump, so that’s why I was wondering if we can fill our live wells with the pump without being in the water.
