Texas Tackle Split Ring Pliers
I'm pretty particular about changing out hooks on crankbaits and I put oval split rings on the tie in point on all my hard baits. I hate tying to round split rings.
I've been using some BPS split ring pliers for the last few years, I finally bought a pair of Texas Tackle Pliers. These things make changing hooks so much easier. They are narrow enough to fit inside the split ring and the bottom jaw extends out further than the tooth. Those two things make these pliers really easy to use. I highly recommend these pliers to anyone that changes hooks on their hard baits. TT review http://www.tackletour.com/reviewtexa...plierspg2.html

Ditto what Joe said. I've had the very same type of pliers (got mine from Cabela's) for awhile now and they work very well. I like to add a split ring to the front of my Pop-Rs and tie the line to that. This pliers makes adding the split ring a snap. Good recommendation, Joe!

I've got a pair from Net Craft that I use. They really do work great and anyone who changes hooks or split rings on cranks regularly should have a pair. On mine, the bottom jaw is behind the tooth though. Still much easier than by hand, lol!

I have the same exact plyers and boy do they make changing split rings a breeze.
