Try a little george on a flourocarbon leader. I fish fl lakes and rivers, which are generally shallow and not clear, but ocassionaly I fish a deep place, and a little george or other tailspinner produces, and when I fish spring fed lakes, flouro helps a lot.

keep in mind even though its clear water, it does get darker the deeper you go, therefore I'd use natural looking dark baits, like a 10" black or purple worm.

I also live on a very deep clear lake and during the summer months these fish go deep. You said you fish 4-20', I fish 20-35' deep. I also only fish of a night because of all the stupid skiers and jet skiers. Go deep with small baits.

triger is right. natural colors are the key. water melon seed, red shad, tequila sunrise, green pumkin,ect.. in very clear water for get a spinner bait unless there is chop on the water and a lot of clouds.. the bass will get to good of a look at the spinner bait and turn away from it.. the use of small baits is a must..nothing bigger than a 6" worm or lizard.. a #5 shad rap would be ok but a dt series bait would be to big a profile right now..
