Reaction Stike Revolution Shad
I just picked up a few of these baits the other day and decided to try them out in my pond to see if they were as life like as everyone says they are and let me tell you they are. I was suprised at how well they mimic a live shad. I've got a couple of each 3" model (fast fall, slow fall, Suspending, and wake). I tried the fast and slow fall first and was really impressed. Next I tried the Suspending model. After catching a 12" smallie and watching another one follow on the next cast I was convenced it these baits were keepers. Then I tied on the wake bait, I have to tell you I may have a new favorite topwater bait. It works at all speeds from super slow (worked just under the surface with a small ripple infront of the bait) to very fast (at buzzbait pace, it will leave a trail of bubbles behind the bait and still run true).
Has anyone else tried these baits? DJ |

Would like to, but I'm hesitant, Reaction Strike has such a bad reputation on the swimbait forums. just go there, mention reaction strike and wait for the deluge of insults, and ridicule! LOL.

I didn't know that Dogmatic. I can't see why. I have a Spro BBZ 1 in the 4" model and the Reaction Strike have just as good of action as the Spro at about half the price.

I know, they look down on the Spro's too. Many consider anything less than 6" a crank bait and not a swimbait, and if didn't cost an arm and a leg, or your first born. LOL. They(swimbait fisherman), kinda remind me of fly fisherman, if you get my drift. If it catches fish I'll use it.

I don't know about you guys but it hurts alittle to turn loose of $20+ for a bait. I know when I bought the Spro I was careful about casting to close to brush or over hanging tree limbs. Afraid I would see my new $20 bait hanging just out of reach in a tree or Watch it swim off in the mouth of one of the big toothy critters swimming in our local lake. While the Reaction Strike's aren't cheap losing one now and then won't break the bank.

The cost of quality baits is high, and it does hurt to loose them. There are some good alternatives to the high priced baits, if you have not taken a look at the Academy H2O line of baits, you might want to check them out, they are of good quality and are very affordable. Luck E Strike has started making some baits that are very close to the high end offerings and allot of people are saying good things about them, they won't break the bank either.

Of the quality swim bait manufacturers, Mattlures is relatively affordable, great customer service, and quick with advice. Huddelston is the king, and also considering the quality, the best, with reasonable prices(although it's tough to find a 68 anywhere!), just watch a Butch Brown vid. There's always Ebay. I've spent over a grand on baits in the last six months, and have a mix of what are considered "quality" baits, and more affordable offerings. Because of the weather, I have only been fishing some of the more expensive baits right now, BBZ's, Hudd's, 3:16's, and Mattlures, but come spring the entire lot is going to get a work out, and I'll see if they catch fish and are worth the $.

If you can get to an Academy, pick up a set or 2 of these. Awesome little jointed swimbaits, they come in 3.5" and 4.5".

Those are some good looking baits at a great price. I like the baby bass and shad colors best but haven't really tried to many bluegill colored baits.
