Default Fuse types, new fuse block

It being the brutal 60 degree winter down here, I am redoing the boat.

One thing I am doing for the first time, and should have done a long time ago, is I am installing a fuse block for the accesories and rewiring it right. Yes I know I should never of direct wired. I am cheap, but I am doing it this time to last and be safe.

What I guess I am asking is, what size fuse should I use for each accessory?

Depth Finder
LED interior lights
Nav Lights
1,000,000 candlepower lamp
Bilge/livewell
42 inch plasma tv
toaster oven

WTL,

Your depth finder literature should tell you the fuse rating it needs.

As for your lighting...if you can't find something definitive that tells you the size, add up the wattage. Divide that by your voltage, be it 12V or 24V, and you should have the minimum fuse size. Even so, this value will probably nuisance trip on you, so you will have to increase it, but only up to the amperage rating of your wires. Strictly speaking, the fuse in a fuse block is there to protect the wire, not the device, though it often does both.

This is just a generalist's approach, as I often take. Others may have more specific knowledge.

A good site for info:

I hope I was able to help.
