Default Problems downloading lowrance 520c emulator because of Windows Vista

Need some help ......

I am attempting to download the emulator for my Lowrance 520c with no luck. I have windows Vista which seems to be the problem. I keep getting a "NPPtools" error. I followed the directions on Lowrance and Microsoft sites...neither worked. Lowrance says it is a Microsoft problem and vice versa.
Anyone else had this problem, and more importantly, how did you fix it or get around it??
Thanks,
Alan (lilrhodybassin)

This is a microsoft error, more or less related to vista and I believe there are two different fixes. One is for the 32bit and one for the 64bit... there are many types of npp tools errors and I'm not sure which one you are getting. I would suggest first check if you are running a 64 bit version of vista or the 32..you can do this by right click on my computer..click on properties and the first tab in general should give you the O.S info.

Second, try and do your install and write down the exact error you are receiving from the software. Once you have the error go to google.com and type it into the search engine to find a fix. Good Luck! Vista can be a pain, but the new windows 7 is really getting great reviews many of the IT users that I work with on a daily basis love it

Default Lowrance emulator

I have a 32bit OS.
Here's the error message. I also tried to open the program in "compatibility mode" (Windows 98). No go. I am being told that as long as my OS is Vista, it's a no go with the emulator.

"This application has failed to start because NPPTools.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Alan

The .dll was not registered correctly. Search the registry for the .dll and see where it points. Fix location if found.

Or make a copy in the system32 folder..

Then register it.
