Culling systems, scales, balance beams . . .
Well, my second year in my bass club will be starting soon (hopefully it will be soon, I just can't stand winter anymore). I plan on using my jet boat for some of the tourneys rather than going as a rider. So, although I would rather buy some new fishing lures, I need to buy some tournament stuff.
Please give me some recommendations on culling systems (I like the new Ardent but it doesn't look like it will clean up easily), scales versus balance beams, and measuring sticks. I appreciate everyone's input. |

I own a couple of golden rules to measure with, Denny has some berkely scales and I also have a scales that you can put the basket and lid on an tare out the weight for club tournies, we got them from some fish scales company in arziona for 80 bucks..I think my old partner has them and weights out tomatoes to sale now lol

I have a golden rule, a Rapala digital scale, and the ardent culling system (Xmas gift that I have not yet used). I used to use a standard culling system with a whiteboard but it was a bit of a pain in the butt to keep organized (especially in a 16.5' boat when the river is rough, splash would smear the whiteboard often). I think the Ardent will be a really nice upgrade on tournament days.

I thought about this system. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st...11000_100-11-4
It says the scale with sort the fish by color and weights for you. That way you can get the little one back and replace with the lunker. |

They also have the same one at walmart Nitro 640...also, walmart has a lot of fishing stuff on sale because they are switching fishing suppliers.....so, i just bought me a culling system, but its not like nitro 640's post..it was different and it came with a wipeable board to record..I believe it had 7 or 9 colors and it was 9 bucks....now its not the best you can buy, but its pretty cheap!!!!

I like the girl pictured with the culling system. Don't know if the baitmonkey is telling me to get because she is in the picture.
Actually, my concern is that the inside of the ball on the Ardent system will become full of water which will begin to stink when it sits in the boat. Are these things hollow? Does anyone have one? |

all you need is a golden rule, balance beam, and some fish tags. if youre tourny fishing you dont have time to weigh every fish and write down the color of the tag and the weight just pay attention.
