Default What do you guys think?

I have an opportunity to buy a 07 Ranger 178VS with a 150 yamaha VMAX lowrance depth, and minkota troll and the on board charger. It is a used boat and I would be the third owner. First guy bought the boat early this year and used it for a month and realized that he wanted a bigger boat, so he traded it in on the bigger boat. Next guy bought it and had it for a couple weeks and he found out that he was getting transferred to Washington DC so he has to dump the boat fast. He is asking 21,000 and there is no more than 25 hours on the motor. I went and looked at the boat and it is brand new, looks like it just came off the show room floor. What do you guys think about this deal, it sounds good to me but I was going to offer him 19,500, because me being third owner would kill my resale. Need opinions.

Bubba, that sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

B'lunk,

Go HERE:

http://www.bassboatcentral.com/

Click on BBC BOARDS. Scroll down to the Ranger Forum and tell those chaps what you've found, in detail. They will chime in to help.
Then, you might go back to the home page and peruse the "Boats for Sale" section listed in the left column.

About the only comment I can offer is that if you fish large water that gets "Tall" often, you may wish to save and wait for an opportunity for a larger boat.
Also, without looking it up, I'm assuming that the VMAX is a DFI motor. That's the best choice for fuel economy. If it's an EFI, then you will spend a lot more $$$ on fuel.
If you do buy the Ranger...Congrats! BE SURE AND TRANSFER THE WARRANTY ON BOAT AND MOTOR IF POSSIBLE!

Thanks for the response guys, I made the guy an offer last night and, he said that he could not go that low as of right now but possibly if he cant sell it in a couple weeks but, I let him know that his boat was not the only one I was looking at and I told him I would own a boat in the next week or two whether it was his or someone eles. So, I am pretty confident that I will get a call towards the end of this week, if not, I got several other boats that I am going to be looking at.
